Join NELFT NHS Foundation Trust as a highly motivated and innovative mental health professional to work with children and young people in our Canterbury, Kent location. We are seeking a graduate qualified health professional to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team in the Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS).

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for a health professional to work with children and young people experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties. You will be responsible for managing referrals, undertaking mental health assessments, and delivering evidence-based clinical interventions in line with the CY-IAPT programme.

Main Duties
  • Manage referrals within the mood and anxiety pathway
  • Undertake mental health assessments and deliver clinical interventions
  • Promote the mental and emotional health of children and young people in the community
  • Assess and develop plans of care for patients with complex needs
Working for NELFT

We place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks.

Person Specification

We are looking for a health professional with:

  • Core professional registration
  • Postgraduate development and training in CYPMHS
  • At least 3 years of experience working with CYPMHS
  • Therapeutic work experience with complex cases
  • Experience of working with difficult, disturbed, or challenging children and young people
  • Experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems
