Job Overview

McGregor Boyall is seeking a seasoned Senior Java Developer to join our prestigious client's elite Foreign Exchange (FX) Technology team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a major financial institution, driving innovation in one of the world's largest FX markets.

About the Role:

  • Develop and enhance Java-based trading platforms to support electronic Forwards trading.
  • Optimize performance for latency-sensitive systems, ensuring seamless execution and high-speed data processing.
  • Collaborate with quantitative research and trading teams to design and implement scalable and fault-tolerant solutions.
  • Contribute to cloud migration initiatives, leveraging expertise in multi-threaded applications and performance optimization techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test Java-based trading platforms, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring clear communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong understanding of Java and its ecosystem.
  • Strong communication abilities, with experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in core Java, with expertise in multi-threaded applications and performance optimization techniques.
