Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to take on responsibilities within a prominent Water/Utilities initiative.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Project Controls Engineer will collaborate with our project controls team on a significant infrastructure undertaking, delivering performance reporting and analytical support. This role may involve being part of a larger team or serving as the primary day-to-day liaison with the client.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical tasks include collaborating with cost and planning engineers to create work breakdown structures and solid performance baselines, establishing methods for progress and cost monitoring, generating project control reports, and providing performance analysis along with recommendations for our clients.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in a project controls setting on a major project or program within the Infrastructure sector (preferably Water/Utilities) is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and experience in:
- Earned value management
- Progress updates
- Cost control
- Change management
- Baseline management
- Reporting in a P6 environment
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong numerical and computer skills, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, planning software such as Primavera, and reporting databases. Familiarity with financial/procurement systems like Oracle and SAP, as well as web-based project control tools, is expected.
Typically, a qualified graduate in a relevant field with some pertinent work experience or proven experience in a project control environment is required.
Senior Project Controls Engineers should be proactive, self-motivated individuals with well-developed communication and analytical skills.
