Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Teaching Assistant Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a specialist school in Southwark.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with ASD in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
  • Assist in implementing personalized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that accommodates the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to manage challenging behavior and promote student growth and development.
  • Work closely with the SENCo and staff to track and promote student progress.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children in an ASD SEN environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team.
  • Patience, understanding, and a genuine passion for supporting children with autism.
  • Experience managing complex needs and supporting positive behavioral outcomes.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
