Public Affairs Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs Lead to join our Communications and External Affairs team at London Gatwick. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a public affairs strategy that supports our business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a public affairs engagement strategy that aligns with our business strategy and public policy goals.
  • Advise senior internal stakeholders on political engagement and policy change.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, parliamentarians, and industry groups.
  • Develop and deliver targeted campaigns to win support for our growth agenda.
  • Manage interventions to minimize and mitigate legislative and reputational risk to the airport.

Requirements

  • Degree in politics or related discipline (Masters level desirable).
  • Experience within an in-house corporate environment or consultancy and with political context.
  • Experience of dealing with governmental, Parliamentary and influential third-party audiences within the UK.
  • Excellent command of written English and ability to write professional letters, emails, engaging copy and formal reports.
  • Skilled in research and interrogating data and reports, setting out compelling, evidence-based arguments and policy positions.
