Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Clinical Nurse, Paramedic, or Operating Room Practitioner to become a vital part of our skilled and supportive team. This role encompasses the admission and recovery processes for patients, specifically within the Endoscopy Theatres. It is a fulfilling and dynamic position that offers a profound sense of accomplishment through the exceptional care you provide.
Key Responsibilities
For a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities associated with this position, please refer to the detailed job description provided below. As an integral member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will collaborate with an outstanding team committed to promoting the health and well-being of our patients during critical times.
About Our Organization
With a presence across Northern, Eastern, and Mid Devon, we employ over 15,000 individuals, making us the largest employer in the region. Our essential services cater to more than 615,000 individuals across an expansive area of over 2,000 square miles, with some specialized services extending throughout the peninsula, reaching as far as Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
We provide a diverse array of emergency, specialized, and general medical services through our facilities, including North Devon District Hospital and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
In addition to our two acute hospitals, we deliver integrated health and social care services across various environments, such as community inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, and in-home care. Our offerings also include primary care services, specialized community services, and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC).
Our advanced equipment, cutting-edge technologies, and strong partnerships with local universities position us at the forefront of research and innovation, enabling us to deliver world-class care to our communities.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Devon as we continue to evolve and enhance our services.
Detailed Role Information
The unit is responsible for a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, striving to deliver exceptional patient care that meets the growing needs of our local community. We attend to approximately 200 patients weekly, including an out-of-hours service for upper GI emergencies. Participation in the out-of-hours rota is expected, and candidates should reside within a 30-minute travel radius to ensure timely attendance for emergencies (on-call accommodations can be arranged with prior notice).
While experience in endoscopy is preferred, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
Work Schedule: 35 hours per week.

New employees will start with 27 days of paid annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing to 33 days plus bank holidays over time.
You will also have access to our comprehensive occupational health services, which include counseling and onsite well-being activities.
