About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our successful and tenacious underwriting team at Aviva. As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play a key role in partnering with brokers and customers to understand their needs and provide whole customer solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite decisions, engaging with brokers to build strong relationships and seek referral & conferral support
  • Manage service for new business, mid-term adjustments (MTAs) and/or renewals for our brokers
  • Seek referrals to ensure sound underwriting decisions on complex cases
  • Interact with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely quotes are issued in line with broker expectations
  • Perform controls to ensure the underwriting risk always stays within tolerance
  • Identify and implement service, process, and customer journey improvements
Requirements
  • Previous Property, Casualty and Construction underwriting experience
  • Knowledge of insurance products, features and processes
  • Enthusiasm, good attention to detail and comfort speaking to a wide range of brokers
  • Customer focussed, planning, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Risk Awareness and a knowledge of complaints process; breach procedures; GDPR and other impacting legislation
