About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Gray Healthcare. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with complex needs, disabilities, and long-term conditions in their own home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2:1 support to the individual, promoting independence and empowering them to make informed decisions about their life.
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal care, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Encourage the individual to engage in activities they enjoy, such as swimming, outdoor walks, and social events.
- Implement detailed care plans and risk assessments, working closely with the individual and their support team to ensure their needs are met.
- Provide emotional support and guidance, helping the individual to manage their mental health and well-being.
Requirements
- Full UK Driving License (essential)
- Social care experience, ideally within mental health and with some experience of supporting individuals with Schizophrenia.
- Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.
- Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.
- Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
