Job Overview

Objective of the Role:

In the capacity of a Senior Electronics Testing Manager, you will spearhead the evaluation and certification of Power Feeding solutions that deliver high-voltage electrical energy to undersea communication cable infrastructures, prioritizing exceptional reliability. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with essential safety and operational standards. You will validate that the product functions in accordance with its specified features and design criteria. The Power Feeding Equipment (PFE) is crucial for supplying high-voltage electrical power to undersea communication systems, focusing on high reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee validation and verification processes for the complete product/system, including comprehensive system-level assessments.
  • Coordinate and supervise both internal and external product qualifications, encompassing EMI/EMC, Environmental, and Safety evaluations.
  • Support and manage the activities of 1-2 engineers or subcontractors.
  • Facilitate collaborative decision-making in verification and validation that influences product performance, dependability, safety, and longevity. Define and strategize necessary testing configurations.
  • Plan and oversee capital expenditures for testing apparatus and configurations within the R&D Laboratory.
  • Ensure the translation of product and system requirements into the testing strategy.
  • Formulate testing and validation methodologies, develop test plans, execute tests, and produce reports along with issue analyses for new products prior to launch and for existing products as required by various departments and projects.
  • Design testing concepts from initial planning to the commissioning of new products, rigs, and jigs, as well as software/firmware for diverse testing applications, including simulation and automation.
  • Estimate project timelines, tasks, and objectives in alignment with annual departmental quality targets.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in software, hardware, and system testing of electronic products and their qualification.
  • Background in test development, process management, and execution.
  • Experience in planning testing configurations, utilizing laboratory instruments, and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong diagnostic skills for fault identification and reporting, utilizing tools such as JIRA.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and technical report writing skills.

Preferred Additional Experience:

  • Experience in test automation.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of standards such as IEC 62368, ETS, EN61000-4, EN55022.
  • Experience engaging with external regulatory bodies.
  • Proficiency in test management software.
