Job Summary:

The Learning Mentor will play a vital role in supporting students who are at risk of disengagement or have attendance and behavior issues. This position requires a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people and the ability to think creatively to re-engage them in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with students who are deemed at risk and provide guidance and support to help them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Monitor attendance and behavior levels to ensure students remain on program.
  • Make appropriate referrals to relevant college systems and services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to support student engagement and success.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong IT skills and GCSEs at grades A-C in English and Maths (or 4-9).
  • Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service.
