Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our General Haulage team at Wincanton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating a Class 1 vehicle to transport goods safely and efficiently between our warehouse and production site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Class 1 vehicle to transport goods between our warehouse and production site.
  • Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Clear the factory of produced stock and collect and deliver goods as required.
  • Adhere to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Secure the load of the trailer to prevent damage and ensure safe transportation.
  • Provide excellent customer service and take ownership of customer issues on delivery.
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries within the delivery window in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Be aware of vehicle defects and report them to the Transport Office as necessary.
  • Attend essential training to maintain and improve your driving skills.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 driving license.
  • Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC Card).
  • Valid Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on your driving license.
  • Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
  • Excellent customer facing awareness skills.
  • Good timekeeping and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering first class customer service.
  • Good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
