Job Overview
The East of England Ambulance Service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Manager to join its Finance Team. This is a senior corporate level role that requires a strong background in financial management, strategic planning, and leadership.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury Management functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Act as the main Finance contact for contract management of Payroll services, providing expert advice and guidance to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance, service delivery, and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the Deputy Director of Finance - Financial Services & Accounting and Director of Finance.
- Manage the production of timely, consistent, and accurate financial reports, including annual accounts and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with financial governance policies and procedures, including authorization procedures and cash management.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance Team, including staff development and training.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit providers to manage reports and implement recommendations.
- Represent the Finance department at Trust meetings and provide financial advice to stakeholders.
Requirements
- CCAB qualification and advanced specialist knowledge of the NHS financial regime.
- Expertise in planning, policy development, and information analysis.
- Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage complex, sensitive, and contentious internal and external communication.
- Significant experience in a financial management role, with people management and supervision skills.
- Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and writing/presenting reports at senior level.
- Knowledge and experience of working with VAT and other taxation rules and regulations.

The Finance department is based in Norwich and consists of approximately 40 staff providing a comprehensive service to the Regional organization.
