About the Opportunity

This is an exciting chance for a junior to mid-level Construction Associate to join a leading international law firm in its London office.

The Role

Our client is a top-tier law firm with offices across the UK, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. The firm is a full-service law firm with a strong reputation in various sectors, including art, private wealth, real estate, and construction, as well as technology, life sciences, education, retail, sports, and entertainment, and international trade.

Construction Practice

The firm's construction practice provides a broad range of construction law solutions, advising private and public institutions, property owners, developers, funders, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, and construction/design consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling client projects from the outset, working with clients to shape their procurement, drafting all types of domestic and international construction documentation and ancillary documents, including collateral warranties, parent company guarantees, and performance bonds.
  • Providing expertise in construction disputes, including payment issues, change, defects, termination, and professional negligence.
  • Working on adjudications in the UK and the TCC.
  • Taking responsibility for the conduct of cases and working as a team player to build strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Construction Solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE or equivalent from a reputable firm.
  • Experience of construction disputes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organisation skills.
  • Commercially aware with enthusiasm for business development.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Strong legal and leadership skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
