Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tree and Cemetery Management Specialist to join our team at Bassetlaw District Council. As a key member of our Parks & Open Spaces Section, you will be responsible for managing our tree and cemetery assets, ensuring their health and safety, and providing expert advice to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough tree inspections to identify potential risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Collaborate with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure effective tree management and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for cemetery management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and external partners on tree and cemetery-related matters.
  • Contribute to the development of our parks and open spaces strategy, ensuring that our tree and cemetery assets are integrated into the overall plan.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in tree and cemetery management, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
