Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Individual Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a student with special educational needs. This role focuses on supporting a child in Year 4 with specific requirements, ensuring they receive the necessary help to thrive academically and socially.
Key Duties:
- Deliver personalized support to the student, enabling them to engage with the curriculum effectively.
- Collaborate in the creation and execution of customized learning plans and support strategies.
- Provide emotional and social encouragement, creating a nurturing and positive atmosphere.
- Work in partnership with the classroom teacher and SEN Coordinator to track progress and adjust support as required.
- Assist the student during classroom activities and transitions, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians, offering regular updates on the student's development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational environment.
- Familiarity with special educational needs, particularly Down's syndrome, is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special needs support are preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
- A patient and empathetic demeanor, with a genuine commitment to fostering children's growth.
