About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adolescent Team, providing specialist mental health services to young people in Bromley. The successful candidate will work closely with adolescents up to 18 years and their families/carers, addressing significant and acute mental health difficulties.

The role involves managing a complex caseload, providing assessment and intervention within the multi-disciplinary team, including psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, child psychotherapists, nurses, family therapists, and support staff. The Consultant Psychiatrist will also provide specialist advice and support to professional colleagues both internal and external to the Trust.

The community intensive outreach service has been developed as an extension to the original adolescent team, offering assertive and intensive multi-disciplinary interventions as a community alternative to inpatient care for young people with significant and acute mental health needs.

Bromley CAMHS provides specialist mental health consultation, assessment, and treatment to children and young people aged 0-18 years with severe and enduring emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties. The service is aligned to the core principles of the Children & Young People's IAPT framework (CYP-IAPT).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex caseload of adolescents with significant and acute mental health difficulties
  • Provide assessment and intervention within the multi-disciplinary team
  • Offer specialist advice and support to professional colleagues
  • Contribute to the development of services for young people with crisis and acute presentations
Person Specification
  • CCT or equivalent, CESR - either due within 6 months
  • Appropriate training/experience in CAMHS to undertake role
