Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Grants and Compliance Manager to join our charity, Nicholas Chamberlaine's School Foundation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the grant application process and building relationships within the local community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Application Management
    • Invite and engage with potential applicants, including individuals, groups, schools, churches, and charities.
    • Collaborate with applicants to develop high-quality grant applications.
    • Review applications against established criteria.
    • Prepare and submit reports and evaluations of applications.
    • Conduct due diligence on applicants to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Grant Award Process
    • Communicate with applicants regarding grant awards and payments.
    • Coordinate bank payments and liaise with trustees to ensure timely disbursements.
    • Monitor and evaluate supported projects through site visits and reports.
    • Maintain accurate records of grant awards and applications.
  • Financial Management and Accounts
    • Ensure effective financial management of grants and maintain control over financial transactions.
    • Keep accurate financial records and collaborate with accountants and the clerk.
    • Maintain accurate accounts and records of expenditure, ensuring a comprehensive audit trail.
    • Work with the clerk and trustees to develop budgets and in-year forecasts.
  • Administration
    • Collaborate with the clerk and secretary to prepare and assemble papers for trustee meetings, including financial forecasts, investment reports, and other relevant documents.
    • Host, attend, and advise at trustee meetings, including preparatory work and minute-taking.
    • Prepare documents to comply with statutory regulations, such as risk assessments, policies, and GDPR requirements.
    • Keep the website up to date and ensure accurate information is available to the public.
    • Undertake other administrative duties as reasonably requested by trustees.
  • General Practice
    • Be accountable for personal development, seeking opportunities to learn new skills and stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and best practices.
    • Assist in implementing procedures and practices that ensure legally compliant, efficient, and effective support to the charity.
    • Ensure the confidentiality of all documentation and information in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
    • Undertake regular professional development to enhance knowledge of legal compliance, including anti-money laundering, GDPR, equality and diversity, financial crime, cyber security, modern slavery, anti-bribery, and health and safety.
    • Assist in the induction of new trustees and provide information, advice, guidance, and training as required.
    • Comply with individual responsibilities for health and safety at work, reporting any concerns to the clerk and chair of trustees.
