The Head of Marketing Strategy will be responsible for crafting and implementing holistic marketing plans that enhance brand visibility, foster engagement, and ultimately boost participation in our diverse range of events. This role demands a strategic visionary with a solid history of marketing leadership within the exhibition and conference industry.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of B2B marketing dynamics and the agility to navigate a swiftly evolving market landscape. We seek a proactive and results-driven individual capable of managing the intricacies of a global, multi-brand portfolio, with a passion for steering the organization through industry challenges and opportunities, ultimately leading us toward success.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development: Formulate and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for the organization, collaborating with marketing and product teams to devise event and publication marketing plans, positioning, and core messaging across the product suite.
Brand Oversight: Manage brand positioning across the portfolio, ensuring uniformity in all marketing materials and communications.
Adaptive Leadership: Seamlessly integrate hands-on execution with team management, optimizing group performance.
Team Development: Lead and nurture a high-performing team, establishing objectives, managing performance, and providing mentorship and support. Exemplify leadership through a coaching approach.
Audience Engagement: Create strategic audience development initiatives in collaboration with the data team, aligned with the growth objectives of the events.
Financial Oversight: Develop and oversee all marketing budgets, providing regular updates to the financial leadership.
Partnership Development: Cultivate, negotiate, and manage key relationships and collaborations with industry media and associations, enhancing brand recognition across critical sectors. Foster strong internal relationships, working closely with cross-functional teams to demonstrate best practices and innovative possibilities.
Performance Monitoring: Supervise the execution of marketing, promotional, and communication campaigns, analyzing effectiveness and results. Continuously optimize performance by identifying opportunities and addressing challenges.
Data Analysis: Regularly assess performance metrics, monitoring pre-registration figures, channel effectiveness, and return on investment, maximizing efficiencies across the portfolio to enhance success.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
· At least 10 years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
· Demonstrated experience in the exhibition and/or publishing sectors is highly advantageous.
· Strong grasp of B2B event marketing, preferably with experience in technology-oriented sectors.
· Extensive knowledge of both online and offline marketing strategies.
· Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
· Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple brands/projects.
· Significant experience in budget management.
