Position Overview:
Menzies Distribution is seeking a skilled HGV Class 1 Vehicle Shunter to become a vital part of our operations, delivering exceptional service.

Key Information:
Compensation:
£14.20 Per Hour

Shift Schedule:
Rotating shifts from Monday to Thursday, 18:00-05:00, and Friday, 18:00-22:00. Total Hours: 48 Hours Per Week
Annual Leave: 28 Days
Onsite Parking: Available
Payment Frequency: Monthly

Responsibilities:
As a Shunter, your duties will include:
1. Conducting thorough vehicle and trailer safety inspections before starting your shift, adhering to all necessary documentation and protocols.
2. Ensuring that loads are secure, safe, and properly positioned.
3. Accurately verifying load documentation and delivery paperwork.
4. Checking in returned goods and ensuring all paperwork is correct.
5. Maintaining constant communication with the Traffic Office.
6. Keeping the vehicle clean and using all equipment in accordance with operating procedures.
7. Operating the vehicle safely, ensuring that your actions do not pose a risk to yourself or other road users.
8. Adhering to safe working practices at all times.
9. Performing any other reasonable tasks as directed to ensure quality service delivery.
10. Managing rachet, strap, and cornering effectively.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A valid UK C+E driving license
- At least 12 months of prior Class 1 driving experience
- Previous shunting experience is preferred
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving license
- No prior disqualifications
- A solid understanding of driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Physical capability to meet the demands of the role
