About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Learning - Science to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the science department, ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education in physics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the science department, including teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive education for our students.
  • Manage and allocate resources to ensure the effective operation of the science department.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Proven experience of leading and managing a department, including teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation, including the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
