Job Summary

Mactech Energy Group is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as an HVAC Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and accepting engineering queries raised by the site contractor on the HVAC scope across the CI/BOP and Nuclear Island buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to general queries, non-conformances, change requests, and exemption requests originating from the MEH contractor on site, with the support of the responsible designer or site experts when needed.
  • Provide adequate oversight to ensure nuclear safety and environmental regulation requirements are met.
  • Challenge design decisions to ensure engineering and design align with the project strategy.
  • Assist in coordinating support from other external organizations.
  • Contribute to the resolution and closure of open points.
  • Assess technical risk and address it accordingly.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with EDF EPR Engineering (Responsible Designer).
  • Report operationally to an Engineering Lead.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in HVAC design, installation, and/or commissioning.
  • Experience applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry.
  • Knowledge of the construction/installation industry.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation, including CDM and nuclear site license requirements.
  • Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly those in a site environment.
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, report on, and escalate relevant issues.
