Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our Quality Assurance team in the capacity of a Supplier Quality Engineer. This role is crucial in ensuring that our suppliers meet the necessary standards and specifications required for our cutting-edge technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to ensure supplier compliance with specifications and contractual obligations.
- Lead Supplier Quality management initiatives in accordance with ISO 9001/ISO 13485 standards and medical device regulations.
- Engage with suppliers to facilitate effective problem resolution through Containment, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, and Verification of Effectiveness.
- Develop and implement improvement plans to achieve Supplier Quality and Development metrics.
- Work closely with suppliers involved in electronic assemblies, plastic components, machined parts, and chemicals.
- Assist Procurement in evaluating quality aspects during Supplier selection and development, including capability analysis.
- Participate in routine Supplier qualification, specification/process change control, and CAPA activities.
- Support the business continuity plan for the security of purchased materials.
- Conduct proactive Supplier risk assessments and devise strategies for enhancing part and process quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement quality initiatives, staying informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Perform any additional duties as required within the scope of this role.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Degree in a Scientific or Engineering discipline and have experience in a regulated Quality Management System environment. Key qualifications include:
- Experience in supplier qualification and performance monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of Quality tools and methodologies.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- Qualified lead auditor status.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of management.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards is advantageous.
- Experience with ERP systems, databases, and reporting software.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative team player with a customer-focused approach.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
