Position: HGV Class 1 Driver

Responsibilities:
  • Execute loading, transportation, and unloading tasks as directed by the Depot Manager or Logistics Planner.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment in accordance with company, client, and contractor safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections on vehicles and trailers in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Represent the company positively by being courteous to clients and fellow road users.
  • Inform the line manager of any incidents affecting your driving licence status.
  • Attend mandatory safety briefings and ensure comprehension of the information provided.
  • Participate in required drug and alcohol testing as mandated.
  • Report any vehicle defects and monitor safety performance.
  • Adhere to the Incident Plan of the client or main contractor, ensuring all incidents are documented.
  • Follow all control measures outlined in risk assessments related to assigned tasks.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or near misses and cooperate fully with investigations.
  • Utilize designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed and maintain it according to guidelines, reporting any loss or damage to the line manager.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures within the framework of the Company's Safety Management System.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the line manager for which you possess the necessary competencies.

Essential Skills:
  • Proficient in the safe loading, securing, transporting, and unloading of various loads.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with relevant safety procedures, demonstrating attentiveness to risk at all times.
  • Familiar with drivers' hours and working hours regulations.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent

Compensation:
£19.00 per hour

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime opportunities available

Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years in low loader/plant hire (mandatory)

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Class 1 licence (mandatory)
  • Driver Qualification Card (mandatory)
