Key Responsibilities

In this patient-centered role, you will contribute to our clinical pharmacy services by supporting a range of medical and surgical wards, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and high-quality care. You will receive guidance to complete your post-graduate training, benefiting from the support of experienced supervisors and tutors.

Primary Duties

  • Participate in a local induction program and maintain essential skills throughout your employment.
  • Serve as a role model for pharmacy practice, exemplifying professional standards and organizational values.
  • Provide exceptional patient-focused clinical pharmacy services, adhering to national guidelines and local procedures.
  • Evaluate prescriptions and patient records to determine the most suitable course of action, facilitating shared decision-making.
  • Engage in and advocate for antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
  • Communicate medication-related information effectively to healthcare professionals and patients, including those with communication challenges.
  • Organize and prioritize your workload in alignment with professional and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements concerning medication management.
  • Conduct audits and quality improvement projects to foster a culture of continuous enhancement.
  • Participate in training and mentoring of trainee pharmacists and technicians, as well as new colleagues.

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (4-year MPharm or equivalent) in Pharmacy.
  • Registered as a pharmacist with the relevant regulatory body.
  • Ability to travel to various sites as required.
  • Application of pharmaceutical knowledge to enhance patient care.
  • Collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to service improvement and patient consultations.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Membership in relevant professional organizations.
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy within a hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with audit and quality improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of electronic prescribing systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
