About the Role
Vectis Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our client's team in a globally recognised manufacturer of precision components. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, cost reduction, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Manage supplier relationships to maintain high standards of quality, delivery, and service.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production schedules and operational requirements.
- Manage the development of all volume purchase agreement negotiations and agreements.
- Coordinate negotiation strategies with suppliers.
- Develop purchasing pipelines and achieve savings in excess of annual targets.
- Ensure that the department is appropriately represented at group meetings.
- Develop a culture that supports process management and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or Senior Buyer gained within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Previous leadership experience with a hands-on approach.
- CIPS qualification highly desirable.
- A strategic thinker, able to influence and implement change.
