Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Assistant to enhance our veterinary team. Our organization is committed to providing essential veterinary services to pets in need, particularly those whose owners face financial challenges.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Animal Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care. Your daily tasks will include:
- Providing high-quality care to animals, including cleaning, feeding, exercising, and grooming.
- Administering treatments and monitoring the health and behavior of patients.
- Supporting veterinary staff in preparing for surgeries and managing the operating theatre.
- Engaging with clients at the reception, offering empathetic support and assistance.
- Handling medication dispensing and processing payments.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care role.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm in emotionally charged situations.
- A genuine passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.
Desirable QualificationsWhile not mandatory, the following qualifications would be advantageous:
- Experience in client care or reception roles.
- Relevant qualifications in Animal Care or a related field.
- Ability to observe and report changes in animal health.
