About the Role:

The Bedford College Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childcare Lecturer to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling Department. As an Associate Lecturer, you will play a key role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, assessing, and verifying subject specialisms on a range of Early Years and Primary Education courses, including T Level and other similar qualifications.
  • Working alongside employers to establish and maintain vocationally relevant industry placement opportunities and experiences for all students.
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realize their potential.
  • Managing students' learning and providing a high-quality learning experience.
  • Contributing proactively to developments in curriculum and innovative teaching.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programs and learning opportunities.
  • Keeping CPD in industry knowledge up to date.

About You:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Level 4 (and above) qualifications in Early Years or Primary Education related studies.
  • Experience in the Early Years or Primary Education sector.
  • Willingness to work towards the Certificate in Education qualification.
  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent or willingness to achieve English and mathematics Level 2 within one year.
  • Evidence of recent sector updating.
  • Working or have worked within the Early Years or Primary Education sector.
  • Knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area.
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to prepare schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Flexible approach to work and working times.
