Grounds Maintenance Operative Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team at HL Services (London) Ltd. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our parks and green spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve the appearance of our parks and green spaces through regular weeding, pruning, planting, lawn mowing, strimming, and hedge cutting.
  • Operate a range of horticultural equipment, including power tools and hand tools, to ensure efficient and effective maintenance.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives and deliver high-quality services to our customers.
  • Implement quality standards and work to customer specifications to ensure exceptional results.
  • Contribute to the development of business growth plans and identify opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in grounds maintenance and a strong understanding of horticultural practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Competent in using power tools and hand tools, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Certificates in spraying (PA1 PA6), Horticulture, and Ride-on Mowers would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent awareness of Health & Safety procedures and a proven ability to implement them.
