About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our site services team, where you will be responsible for developing our newly released Android Sports Native App alongside our award-winning website.

As a key member of our software development function, you will work collaboratively with a growing team of talented developers to deliver high-quality user interfaces, interactivity, and performance.

You will be working with a large and ever-expanding Kotlin codebase and our in-house framework to enhance our Sports App, including feature development and enhancements, issue resolution, and performance improvements.

This role is eligible for inclusion in our hybrid working from home policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex feature-rich applications for the Android platform.
  • Implement unit tests to improve and maintain app quality.
  • Work with modern Android libraries and APIs, including RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Debug and address memory and performance issues.
  • Design and develop applications using Kotlin or Java in Android Studio.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in writing code using Kotlin or Java in Android Studio.
  • Proven working experience with modern Android libraries and APIs.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Experience with unit testing, including testing frameworks such as Espresso.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, Chrome Web Inspector, or Android WebView APIs.
