Transforming the Future of ITV's Enterprise Platforms

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Enterprise Senior Platform Engineer to join our team at ITV. As a key member of our Central Technology department, you will play a crucial role in driving the evolution of our Enterprise Platform, ensuring it continues to meet the changing business requirements for corporate application hosting.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Enterprise Platform, including automation, orchestration, and configuration management, to drive efficiency and solve complex infrastructure operations challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Platforms Manager and third-party service management teams to build a high-performing, operational service for Enterprise Platforms.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Platforms Product Manager and Group Technology Architects to develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Enterprise Platforms, aligning with ITV's Public Cloud and Application Modernisation strategy.
  • Facilitate the identification, selection, and implementation of appropriate tools, operating systems, database components, and systems management tools that meet the needs of the ITV business.
  • Develop and execute a plan for engaging with ITV customers to understand their needs, gather requirements, and determine current and future use cases for Enterprise Platform products.
  • Enable and facilitate the introduction of modern engineering best practices, approaches, and technologies to improve the efficiency, stability, and security of the Enterprise Platform.
  • Work with Group Technology Architecture and Cyber Security to design enterprise hosting solutions that meet ITV's business and technology demands for enterprise application hosting.
  • Monitor industry trends and apply forward thinking to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in platform services and tools.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on engineering experience in delivering infrastructure and platform products and services to meet diverse business needs.
  • Experience in delivering and operating multiple products end-to-end, defining and delivering roadmaps, and implementing continuous improvement programs.
  • Experience working within an outsourced/managed service IT operating model.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with Scrum or Kanban-based agile delivery approaches, tools, and measurement.
  • Expert knowledge of PowerShell and experience with configuration management tooling (ideally Puppet).
  • Experience with deploying and managing Windows and Linux server operating systems, as well as MS SQL databases.
