Position: Senior Commercial Lead

Sector: Rail Infrastructure

Kenton Black is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Lead to join our dynamic team within the rail division. This role is pivotal in managing a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring successful delivery and profitability.

The Senior Commercial Lead will collaborate closely with both the Operations and Contracts Managers, overseeing a dedicated commercial team tailored to meet project demands. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, with a focus on achieving strategic commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies to enhance project profitability.
  • Work in conjunction with project management teams to ensure financial success and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain and manage a robust contract cost reporting system, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Generate precise forecasts regarding project costs and final values, contributing to effective financial planning.
  • Prepare and present Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports for all projects within the portfolio.
  • Support the management of subcontractor tender processes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the management of subcontractor accounts, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Provide detailed monthly reports on project costs and values, aligned with company reporting standards.
  • Guide and mentor team members, fostering professional development and clear career progression.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, with a strong focus on financial and commercial oversight.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Network Rail Contract Suite.
  • A genuine interest in rail infrastructure projects.
