Medical Microbiologist Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our well-integrated team as a Locum Consultant Medical Microbiologist. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing a comprehensive and efficient clinical Microbiology, Virology, and Infection Prevention and Control service to the Trust and other users of the service.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide a comprehensive and efficient clinical Microbiology, Virology, and Infection Prevention and Control service to the Trust and other users of the service.
- Develop specialist expertise in one or more relevant areas, relating to your interests, to complement the skills of the other consultants and help to deliver the service.
- Attend regular departmental meetings, including the Senior Staff meeting and the Clinical Governance Meeting.
- Participate in the development of laboratory protocols and procedures, and provide training to junior medical and laboratory staff.
- Contribute to the development of antimicrobial stewardship and improve and further implement audits within the Trust.
- Registered medical practitioner with a strong background in Microbiology and Virology.
- Eligible to join the Specialist Register within six months of the date of the Appointments Committee.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
