Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Field Merchandiser to join our team. As a key member of our product team, you will be responsible for planning and managing department key performance indicators (KPIs) to maximize sales and margin across channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage department KPIs, including sales, stock, and markdowns, to achieve terminal stock targets.
- Work cross-functionally with the product team to develop department product strategy in line with overall company strategy.
- Create weekly and phase-level plans by channel and category for sales, margin, stock, and markdown, taking traded history and planned future events into consideration.
- Develop and select a balanced and commercial range that delivers the product strategy, working closely with the DBMS team.
- Plan seasonal pricing and promotional activity together with the Buyer, supported by financial evaluation.
- Input into and implement a supplier strategy that sets out short, medium, and long-term plans for supplier partnerships, development, and improvement.
- Highlight trading opportunities and risks and propose effective action.
- Manage the availability of stock to ensure maximum profitability, launch dates are met, and sales and stocks are optimized in line with department KPIs across trading channels.
- Effectively manage and motivate your merchandising team through performance management, personal development, and appraisals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
- Proven track record in merchandising at either Junior Merchandiser/Merchandiser level.
- Previous experience in retail essential.
- Highly numerate and able to interpret data to determine decision-making, work to budgets, and financial plans.
- Strong planning and organization skills – able to change plans in line with business needs.
- Use of Excel, BI, and product systems.
- Brand and commercial awareness.
