Key Responsibilities:- Lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve common goals, demonstrating strong leadership qualities and a successful track record of team management.
- Maintain internal databases and follow up on defects with the Fleet Department, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Administer the vehicle and trailer maintenance program, ensuring compliance with EU Hours, Working Time Directives, and Tachograph legislation.
- Complete daily checks and record on the central system, including trailers, returns, re-books, and pallets, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Direct contact with drivers on daily performance and improvement actions, providing coaching and guidance to enhance performance.
- Provide information and support to the Operations Manager to enable planning and management of depot payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment.
- Ensure all personnel files are up-to-date, incorporating license validation, personal details, and completed training, maintaining accurate and compliant records.
- Coordinate the recruitment and training of employees, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Assist in accident investigation and follow-up, ensuring a safe and incident-free working environment.
- Complete daily risk assessments of the yard and office, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
- Identify and inform the Operations Manager of any maintenance and repair issues in the site, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Previous experience working within a similar transport-related role, with a good working knowledge of EU Hours, Working Time Directives, and Tachograph legislation.
- PC literate, with knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, and ability to work on own initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, energetic leadership style, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to resolve issues and adapt to changing circumstances.
- 1 year's experience in transport operations, with a proven track record of success.
