We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Children's Occupational Therapy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your specialist OT skills and deliver services to improve outcomes for children and families.
Main Responsibilities- Assess and treat children with physical, learning, or developmental difficulties in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Develop and implement effective therapy plans to promote children's functional performance and independence.
- Work collaboratively with Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Paediatricians, and colleagues in Education to deliver comprehensive care.
- Contribute to the development of services and improve outcomes for children through innovative practice and evidence-based interventions.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council.
- Significant postgraduate experience working in Children's OT or other work with children.
- Experience of working across a range of settings, including acute, clinic, community, and education.
- Experience of using specialist OT assessment and intervention techniques with children with complex and multiple functional difficulties.
- Postgraduate training in Paediatric Neuro-motor difficulties and/or Sensory Processing Difficulties.
- Postgraduate training in the delivery of Children's Occupational Therapy.
- Experience of working with children with autism.
- Experience of providing OT to pre-school children with complex functional difficulties.
- Experience of providing OT to children with complex functional difficulties arising from physical impairments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Motivated to improve service provision.
- Excellent ability to creatively apply therapy to meet the specific needs of children.
- Committed to working under a family-centered framework, involving parents in therapy.
- Committed to working collaboratively with the trust and wider agencies.
