Salary: £11.44 per hour

Hours: Full time. Monday - Thursday 8-4:45 and Friday 8-4 it would be a 43 hour working week

At The Recruitment Co, we are currently seeking a dedicated Extruder Operator for a full-time temporary to permanent position.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate machinery according to company protocols and safety regulations to ensure optimal production conditions, delivering finished products that meet both company and customer specifications.
  • Perform cleaning of machinery and processing equipment using provided tools and resources efficiently to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct daily safety and mechanical inspections on tools, machinery, and processing equipment, promptly reporting any issues that arise.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the appropriate management personnel without delay.
  • Operate a Forklift Truck (F.L.T) safely and responsibly.
  • Accurately complete necessary process documentation, including job cards and extruder time data.
  • Maintain scales and balances to ensure they are in a productive and safe condition, performing calibration tasks as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within your designated area to uphold a safe working environment.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (P.P.E) as required in designated areas and processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Identify and report any health and safety concerns, suggesting improvements where applicable.
  • Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace, ensuring your actions do not compromise the safety of others.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments within production to facilitate the smooth movement of materials through the process.
  • Promptly report any quality issues to relevant stakeholders, including supervisors and quality control personnel.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the work environment, being a reliable and conscientious team member.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and machinery isolation procedures.
  • Process supplied mixes efficiently to produce finished goods that meet required specifications.
  • Learn and apply different techniques to address process challenges.
  • Prepare samples for Quality Control testing and ensure timely submission.
  • Inspect the quality of finished products, addressing any issues such as contamination or improper packaging.
  • Ensure that finished products are packaged and labeled according to standard instructions and customer requirements, checking seals to prevent contamination.
  • When necessary, safely palletize and wrap finished products for dispatch.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in extrusion processes.
