About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Homicide Family Caseworker to join our team at Victim Support. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional support to families bereaved by and witness to homicide, delivering a tailored package of support to service users and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex caseload of families affected by homicide, providing trauma-informed advocacy and support.
- Work closely with Police Major Crime teams to provide briefings on the work of the Homicide Service.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including police, healthcare professionals, and other support agencies.
- Provide emotional support and practical assistance to families, helping them to navigate the criminal justice system and access relevant services.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to families' needs.
Requirements:
- Understanding of the impact of crime on victims and their families.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering services and working within a statutory or voluntary setting.
- Ability to balance competing needs and priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A successful track record of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
