Structural Engineer Opportunity

This is a permanent role based in the office with travel to sites required. The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering and experience in project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Structural analysis and design
  • Managing and running structural design projects
  • Monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedule
  • Site visits, carrying out desktop investigations, attending site meetings, and checking progress and quality of work on site
  • Liaising with contractors, clients, and architects
  • Representing the company at design team and contractor/client meetings and business
  • Development/networking events as may be required
  • Communicating clearly with team members, manager, and contractors, architects, clients
  • Providing technical direction and mentoring to graduate engineers
Requirements:
  • Minimum BTEC HND in Engineering or Construction related discipline
  • Structural engineering background
  • Project experience as a technician within an engineering practice
  • Ability to produce accurate and well-presented drawings or documents in accordance with briefings from engineering staff
  • Ability to understand and create structural details from general arrangement plans
  • Knowledge and experience of all common building materials and details
  • Experienced with 2D/3D draughting software using AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Knowledge of BIM co-ordination on projects
  • Ability to take ownership of own projects and undertake coordination of works
  • Experience of reinforced concrete detailing including the use of CADS RC
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an enthusiasm for team and self-development
