Production Team Leader (Coating Division)

Compensation: £29, plus shift allowance and 5% SVO allowance (OTE £36,285)

The Production Team Leader will oversee the effective and efficient operation of weekend shift activities and processes within the designated area. Your role will be crucial in maintaining high team morale and ensuring exceptional service delivery to clients.

Key responsibilities include enhancing, implementing, and sustaining operational processes and procedures, while playing a vital role in upholding Health and Safety standards in collaboration with the client's HSQE support teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee weekend operational activities in partnership with clients, including determining overtime needs to ensure timely service delivery that meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Manage resources to promote effective teamwork and individual performance.
  • Ensure that scheduled operational tasks are executed as required.
  • Conduct Quality and Health and Safety inspections, addressing any identified discrepancies.
  • Ensure that supervised staff receive comprehensive training on safety protocols relevant to their roles, adhering to RAMS specific to each task, and maintaining proper documentation.
  • Track and manage staff attendance, holiday allocations, and timekeeping, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely completion of return-to-work processes.
  • Apply company HR procedures for addressing grievances and disciplinary matters, seeking managerial support when necessary, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Exhibit flexibility in working hours to accommodate client needs and expectations.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire direct reports.
  • Facilitate effective communication with all team members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborate closely with direct Line Managers to ensure effective handover processes.
  • Strive to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring that the company’s image reflects the high standards expected.
  • Encourage team members to identify root causes and take prompt, effective action to resolve issues.
  • Organize induction and job-specific training for staff as necessary.
  • Ensure that appropriate training is available to meet current and future operational demands.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to management, colleagues, and clients.

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to the Coating Division Manager
  • Collaborates with local supervisory and management teams

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising teams.
  • Relevant background in cleaning and waste management contracts.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations and legislation.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Experience in operating plant machinery.
  • Skilled in managing customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification is preferred.
