Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi Skilled M&E Engineer to join our team at the University of Greenwich. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plant equipment, systems, and building structures associated with our premises.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring best practices, statutory compliance, and adherence to service level agreements as outlined in our Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) contract. A significant aspect of this role involves expertise in both domestic and commercial plumbing.

As a Multi Skilled M&E Engineer, you will perform day-to-day operations, planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on a variety of systems including water distribution, sanitary fittings, BMS, drainage, boiler controls, fire alarm systems, and building fabric.

You will ensure all work meets required codes of practice and health and safety regulations. Effective communication with colleagues, clients, and site representatives is essential to maintain high levels of customer care.

You will identify and implement opportunities to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction. Additionally, you will provide cover for other multi-skilled engineers as needed and participate in an on-call rota, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day operations, planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on a variety of systems.
  • Ensure all work meets required codes of practice and health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and site representatives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Qualification in commercial plumbing equipment services and drainage.
  • At least 5 years of relevant post-experience in a similar environment.
  • Ability to multi-task across mechanical and other building disciplines.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • UK driving license and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
