Position Overview

We are pleased to present an opportunity for a dedicated, proactive, and enthusiastic Clinical Support Specialist to become a vital member of our team.

This role is newly established within a well-regarded team, and we are eager to foster a collaborative approach to the evolution of this position.

The role is integrated within the Clinical Site Management framework, collaborating closely with Site Managers and the Flow team to address the clinical and operational requirements for patient flow and safety.

Responsibilities will include facilitating clinical flow and assisting with various clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, cannulation, and ECGs. This is a continuous service, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with shift patterns designed to meet these needs.

We seek candidates who are committed to our vision of enhancing the role and the team to ensure effective, efficient, and safe Patient Flow across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of all patient flow aspects for the site, maintaining close communication with the Emergency Department, assessment areas, and wards. The individual will provide timely real-time capacity updates to the Patient Flow team as required and ensure that information is disseminated both internally and externally as directed by the Site Matron and Lead Nurse for Flow.

The position will support the operational and strategic objectives of the Patient Flow team, fostering a culture of change that enhances efficiency, effectiveness, and patient outcomes, ensuring that patients receive care in the appropriate environment.

The role also involves being an integral part of the hospital's night team, providing support for patient care and safety, and ensuring timely assessments and treatments.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Care

Experience

  • Substantial experience in an acute care environment, with a portion of this at NVQ Level 3.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication abilities
  • Proficiency in using Trust computer systems/System1
  • Capability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Advanced clinical competencies including venepuncture, cannulation, ECG recording, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Computer literacy

Desirable

  • Familiarity with PAS systems and other electronic Patient Management systems.
  • Competence in male and female catheterization.
