Aircraft Maintenance Manager

STS Aviation Services is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Check Manager to join their team in Manchester, UK. As a key member of the base maintenance operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of allocated maintenance inputs, ensuring regulatory compliance and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver allocated maintenance inputs to schedule, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
- Manage and allocate tasks to team members, ensuring effective workflow and productivity.
- Collaborate with the Base Maintenance Management team to achieve business objectives and improve processes.
- Line manage staff within their area of responsibility, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Issue certificates of release to service for specific aircraft types, ensuring compliance with QA044 Staff Authorisation Document.
- Maintain accurate records of progress against tasks, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Develop and implement solutions to deliver maintenance to target within budget constraints.
- Ensure a daily progress report is issued for aircraft under maintenance, highlighting key achievements and challenges.
- Accountable for the technical integrity of all work carried out under their control, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Responsible for the conduct and timekeeping of allocated staff, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure all husbandry and tool audit requirements are carried out and recorded, maintaining a high level of quality and compliance.
- Conduct formal appraisals of hangar floor staff, providing feedback and recommendations for further training and development.
- Responsible for continued H&S 'duty of care' of their team, ensuring all current procedures are followed and adhered to.
- Carry out DQS self-audit in line with base maintenance procedures, allocating audits to staff and coordinating responses where applicable.
- Assist with quality audit and support the implementation of robust closure plans, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence.
- Collaborate with the Head of Base Maintenance to create and manage budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial management.
- Category B licensed engineers must hold C certification by aircraft type.
- Must hold A330/A320 type ratings.
- Minimum of 5 years Base Maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 certifying engineer.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Good working knowledge of Part 145 Aviation Legislation.
- Flexible approach to working in a fast-changing environment.
- Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
