Job Summary
Empowering Young People with Additional Learning Needs
Coleg Cambria is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Assistant to join our team at Yale. As a Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs, providing a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters their growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to learners with Additional Learning Needs, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement effective learning plans, ensuring learners receive the support they need to achieve their goals.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social skills, emotional well-being, and academic achievement.
- Communicate effectively with learners, staff, and parents, using a range of strategies to ensure understanding and engagement.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with a Level 2 qualification or above.
- Empathy, understanding, and resilience, with a passion for empowering and enabling young people.
- Previous experience in supporting learners with Additional Learning Needs, or significant relevant personal experience.
- Ability to build strong relationships with learners, staff, and parents, and to manage challenging behaviors in a positive and constructive manner.
