Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with special educational needs and mental health concerns, working closely with teachers and other professionals to implement strategies outlined in education, health, and care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support to students with mental health needs, helping them manage emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.
  • Offer immediate support and assistance in situations where students experience mental health crises or emotional distress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with special educational needs and mental health concerns.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a Secondary SEN school educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioural challenge.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
