Landscaping Team Leader Job Description

First Military Recruitment is seeking a skilled Landscaping Team Leader to join our client's team. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of maintenance contracts and ensuring that all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule Management: Assist in building the weekly schedule of works, focusing on meeting daily production targets and ensuring that all tasks are completed within the agreed timeframes.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Maintenance Operatives and Team Leaders, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members are motivated and working efficiently.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that all necessary resources, including equipment and materials, are available to the team and that they are used effectively to meet contractual obligations.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits to ensure that all operations are carried out to the expected quality and timescales, and that site plans and instructions are followed.
  • Staff Management: Participate in the interviewing, recruiting, and inducting of new starters, and manage staff attendance and plan for seasonal demand variations, annual leave, sickness, and training.
  • Health and Safety: Create a positive safety culture where everyone works efficiently and safely, risks are mitigated, and injuries do not occur or are a rare occurrence.
  • Contract Management: Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the correct policies and procedures, and that all contractual obligations are met.
Requirements:
  • Full UK Driving Licence: Essential for the role.
  • Trailer Towing Licence: Preferred but not essential.
  • Industrial Counter Balanced Lift Truck (Forklift) Licence: Preferred but not essential.
  • City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Safe Use of Pesticides (PA06A) Spraying Licence: Preferred but not essential.
  • Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Course: Preferred but not essential.
  • Health and Safety Course (ROLO): Preferred but not essential.
  • St John Ambulance Emergency First Aid at Work Course: Preferred but not essential.

Location: Reading

Salary: £33,000 Per Annum
