About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Public Law and Human Rights Department in Sheffield or Leeds office. As a Paralegal Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking casework and supporting our lawyers on a range of public law and human rights cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist solicitors in preparing and presenting cases in the areas of judicial review, social care, healthcare, and medical treatment.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the development of cases and provide recommendations to lawyers.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure effective case management and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of public law and human rights principles and legislation.
  • Provide excellent client care and communication skills to ensure clients receive high-quality support and advice.

About You

We are looking for a well-motivated individual who has a genuine interest in working within Public Law and Human Rights. The successful candidate must:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Have some paralegal or public law work experience, particularly within the above areas.
  • Have excellent analytical and organisational skills to take a thorough approach to documenting work.
  • Be IT literate and have great attention to detail.
  • Be able to operate independently and as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.
  • Have a working knowledge, or at least a basic understanding, of legal aid systems.
