Job Title: M&E Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking an experienced M&E Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Saur EUROPE. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems on our water treatment plant project.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee the delivery of MEICA solutions and systems integration.
  2. Configure analytical equipment to meet process requirements.
  3. Conduct regular progress meetings with technology providers.
  4. Produce and assess RAMS, manage project progress reports, and audit subcontractor performance.
  5. Manage project installation and produce relevant documentation for successful project closure.
Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ):
  1. Demonstrate safe behaviors, adhere to site safety rules, and create task-specific RAMS and permits.
  2. Work under and adhere to site permitting regulations, implement SHEQ initiatives, and refresh them as needed.
  3. Understand and adhere to Electrical Safety Rules.
General Management:
  1. Liaise with design and suppliers/subcontractors to ensure equipment setup and commissioning.
  2. Ensure technical input and expertise are utilized, adhere to the commissioning plan, and conduct FAT testing.
  3. Provide input to the project manager and site manager for the 4WLA.
  4. Capture installation, testing, and commissioning data on commissioning sheets daily.
  5. Ensure snag-free installation and commissioning.
Client Facing:
  1. Build and maintain relationships with the client organization, particularly Service Delivery (Operations).
  2. Contribute to reports and briefings for client management.
  3. Liaise with client representatives from Asset Creation (AC) and Service Delivery (SD) and participate in site meetings.
  4. Train client operational staff.
Technical Knowledge:
  1. Experience in the engineering discipline relevant to the project scope.
  2. Full project cycle commissioning input from outline design to final commissioning and handover.
  3. Coordinate and produce commissioning plans for approval, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed.
  4. Able to write commissioning plans, procedures, and carry out hands-on commissioning activities.
  5. Electrical conversant to 18th or subsequent edition of the Electrical Regulations.
  6. Demonstrated ability to understand water and wastewater treatment processes and commission in a structured manner.
  7. FAT testing and management of close-out of defects found, as well as demonstrated ability to carry out troubleshooting.
  8. Management of Process/M&E through design refinement and scope change.
  9. Review electrical and/or mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, FDS documents, P&I documents, and instigate required design change as and when necessary.
  10. Coordinate project commissioning activities and close liaison with any 3rd party Commissioning Engineers ensuring successful commissioning.
  11. Manage Process/M&E Design and Scope Changes as well as M&E Programme updates with the Planning team (monthly).
  12. Ensure technical solution delivery is consistent across the project life cycle from early involvement to completion.
  13. Ensure best practice, technical bulletins, and lessons learned are utilized.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience with a main contractor working on Water and Wastewater Process Engineering projects.
  2. HND/degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline or 5 years' experience as a commissioning engineer.
  3. SHEA card training to be carried out within 4 weeks of starting.
  4. CSCS card required.
  5. EUSR Water Hygiene card required.
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment, although must be able to self-manage, meticulous, approachable when client facing, pro-active, structured, and organized, able to lead teams and be a team player with strong overall engineering focus.
