About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Gate Line Assistant for Heathrow Express customers at Paddington station. As a key member of our stations team, you will be the face of Great Western Railway and play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high level of service to customers, ensuring a positive impression of the company and exceeding their expectations.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the automatic ticket barriers, ensuring smooth and efficient customer flow.
  • Ensure customer security and respond to customer enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Inspect tickets and address customer needs in times of service disruption.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of the gate line area, ensuring customer walkways are unobstructed and free from rubbish.
Requirements
  • Able to deliver exceptional customer service, with a strong focus on empathy and understanding.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confident decision-maker, able to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to customer needs.
  • Able to work to strict procedures and maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy, with the ability to complete reports as required.
