We are supporting Huntress, a company based in the UK, with recruiting for a Part-Time Accountant, working 20 hours a week. This can be 4 hours per day or 3 full days. This is a permanent opportunity that includes hybrid working from home 1/2 days a week with the remaining days in the office.

To be successful, you must be an experienced Accountant with qualifications and experience of Sage accounting software. You must also have experience of tax application and processes, handling external audits and bookkeeping skills. You will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Quarterly VAT Returns: Prepare the VAT Return every quarter, check each VAT Return and pass to the Head of Finance for review and authorisation, then submit to HMRC.
  2. Monthly Statements: Collate monthly statements for company credit cards and obtain receipts to support expenses.
  3. Expenditure Review: Ask senior management to review and approve the monthly expenditure on each credit card.
  4. Annual Accounts: Provide support to ensure the annual accounts are accurate and complete in advance of the annual audit.
  5. Purchase Ledger Duties: Perform purchase ledger duties, including posting supplier invoices on Sage.
  6. Purchase Ledger Reconciliation: Liaise with staff to resolve any queries regarding supplier invoices and ensure the purchase ledger is accurate and reconciled.
  7. Sales Ledger Duties: Perform sales ledger duties, including raising invoices on a regular basis.
  8. Credit Control: Perform credit control by contacting customers to chase payment of outstanding invoices.
