About the Role

The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB is seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Management team, you will play a crucial role in providing financial expertise and support to our commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform commissioning decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Work closely with the Deputy Director of Finance to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and systems.
  • Manage and motivate a high-performing team of financial analysts and provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality financial services.
  • Provide expert financial support for the evaluation and due diligence of business cases relating to service re-design, major transformation, cost efficiency programmes, contract variations, and contract negotiations.
  • Work with the Deputy Director of Finance to ensure that processes are in place to deliver financial control, ensuring effective planning with providers such that services are commissioned within budget, and budgets are achieved.
  • Support the Deputy Director of Finance in contract negotiations and contract management through direct involvement and support.
  • Work with the Deputy Director of Finance to ensure Central Finance returns are accurate and completed within the relevant deadlines, monthly reporting, forecasting, and monthly/quarterly reporting to NHS England.
Requirements
  • CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant with evidence of professional membership and significant relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to analyse highly complex information from multiple sources, and present options and outcomes clearly and simply.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with contentious or sensitive issues.
  • High level of emotional resilience to allow empathy without compromise on project aims or goals.

  • Excellent understanding of the current social and political environment and of Clinical and Corporate Governance issues.
